I have an important update on the 2016 Kent State Indoor contest. The
Cleveland Free Flight Society for years have supported the contest. They
would pay the rent upfront and contest fees would be the reimbursement.
For many years the club has taken losses. Fortunately a donor helped
with last years deficit but the contest really must stand on its own to
continue. For the past years FAC support from the local or nearby FAC
modelers has been declining to the point where only the indoor guys
setting records are the contestants. After some discussion, CFFS club
officials have decided it is time for the club to no longer bear the
financial responsibility of the contest.

What this means right now is there is no contest for 2016. However, what
it can mean is that we still rent the site for the day from 7am to 10 pm
for $1200. I can sanction it as a contest similar to how is done at West
Baden. Maybe add in a few non AMA events. But I need to have the rent
covered before I sign any contract. I need say 12 people at $100 each
for the contest to make it a go then if more people come I can refund
the initial sponsors so we all pay the same amount. So if 20 people end
up entering the day of the contest it will only be $60 a person so those
who paid $100 upfront will get $40 back at the contest.

I am sorry to have to post this but it is what it is. If anyone wishes
to sign up as a sponsor for the event please email me offline at
don_at_donsrc.com hopefully over the next 4-6 weeks we can get enough
people. For now I will put a January 31st, 2016 deadline for the event
to have the $1200 raised.
