I inspected my winder. Mine is the very first versin (or prototype) of Chain Gang Winder. The switch is a red tube and about 4.5mmD x 30mmL.
I coupled two winders together, ChainGang and a Japanese one, and wound each other. The result was perfect, no difference at all. Of course, I have never felt the problem.
