Some nice flying

TTOMA's monthly contest was yesterday. One of the best ever!

 Highlights:
Kang Lee did 27:54 in F1D. With a 10'slide down a wall. 30 minutes anyone?

Nick Ray unveiled his new HLS with unbraced elliptical wing. Looks unbelievably good in flight.

I pulled off a new state record of 14:20 in F1L after a spectacular explosion of a failed motorstick. Record is not so awesome--Bill had it previously at 14:18!

Hope's F1L pulled off a partial power rafter banger with no steering--10:51.Must be nice to have autopilot.

Bill flew his new F1M to an official 15:05, but unofficially pulled a 15:30something.

I flew the new F1D rules in the afternoon. Blew up every single motor I brought. No, really. Best time was 19:30, and that landed with 260 turns. So...yeah, there's a lot left on the table yet. F1D is still fun, but I have to say that it is much, much harder under the new rules. Motors this size are very difficult to manage when you're winding to the limit. The good news is that RPM's are still in the 30's for a decent portion of the flight, so the majesty of F1D is still around.
