I would have thought that for a brake, the elevator cabin should run on
rails, and I did not see any. Maybe it just rotated a bit while it fell,
until it turned enough to get stuck in the shaft... :-)

Seriously, I hope they get it fixed soon; we should be having the
European Championships in the mine in next April...
