Mariana just heard from friends in Romania that the elevator cage in the Slanic salt mine fell. This will be of particular interest to all those who have been there and bravely rode that steel box down into the mine.
Fortunately the brake stopped it before it hit bottom (I didn't know it had a brake) and except for a couple of minor injuries and near heart attacks all survived. Of course getting out of the mine was another problem which was solved by climbing through the working part of the mine.
