Even with blowers off for several hours, the air was bad.

The dome is connected to other buildings and the doors are open. There is positive pressure inside - Open a door to the outside and the air will suck you outside. (Reminds me of the Pontiac Silverdome.)

I did discuss trying again with the door closed to see if the positive pressure could be reduced/eliminated.
But that 5.5 hour drive each way is killer.

I still have the contact if anyone more local than me wants to try again.
I'd be willing to I guess. I suspect that a time of year when the outside is about 70 is best.
Keep the differentials down. Probably right after school ends is the only good time if it could be arranged.

Just be aware that the site costs $2500/day to rent.
