Re: F1D rule change

Either way a Formula One or Indy Racing car does not just cut its nose off to reach top performance... It almost always starts from scratch. For instance F1Ds rely on stick bow and torsional forces for down thrust, VIT and wing wash....which would dramatically change if a stick was shortened... My thoughts remain that to become the most competitive (which is what this F1D game is about) very few components would be reusable. The additional weight will be added to stiffening of critical parts such as spars, rubber will become far more important to have the very best May 99 as there is less power to displace... For those who have Y2K2 they will still use it. I do not see what this achieves except for limiting performance.
But I do not have the time to start afresh?
If I was retired I may think differently but working and a family leaves me with limited time and one I am having to consider ... At this moment I do feel like calling it a day with F1D which is very depressing as up to last week I was so buoyant after my inaugural visit to the Salt mine..experiencing flying at height once again.
I am not opposed to changing rules when they are required to improve the experience and to accommodate ever changing flying sites. The rules were superb and the boundaries being pushed .... but this could have been simply resolved by allowing part motors at sites where concerns may have been had about the duration of flight or height restrictions.
F1D will continue and I do hope this does not drive away too many flyers...
