I whipped together a jig last night/this morning to hold a frame in the right position. Then made a frame this morning 3" wide in order to cover a 2.5" wide prop. When twisted, the center is less than 2.5" wide. 3.5" may just barely be enough, but I suspect 4" would be better.
I used some 1/8" squares I had cut held together with pins placed to easily allow twisting - I think I will grab some 1/8" dowel when I go out shortly and remake the frames with dowel rods. I think they may work better.
Regards.
