My moderately expensive .01 gram scale made by MARS in Canada & purchased in 1998 died yesterday when I touched the weighing platform & a static electric spark killed it. Now I can get a .001 gram scale for less money. But I will miss the large weighing platform & the fact that it could be operated off of 115 volt AC or a 9V battery. On the other hand it was not as compact & easily portable as the new ones. The recent discussions about scales with help me when I order a new one.
