Flying characteristic of the models under the new proposal would be very similar to that of the current F1D flying on a 2/3 partial motor, with a 1/3 dummy motor for ballast. Performance will be roughly 2/3 of the current performance in a high site and more than 2/3 in a lower site.

With a smaller 0.4 g motor, there will be more focus on rubber. Getting more usable energy out of the rubber will be the low hanging fruit. The newer Tan SS may be viable with improved VP/VD and a sturdier model. We will need to do more rubber testing.

After more thinking, I think going to 0.4 g is going too far. I would not welcome the change. I really love the 55 cm F1D as it is.
