Here is one to avoid! It is a lot smaller than I expected. 1.5" X 2.75" When I bought it, the photo did not include a persons hand for size comparison, but it did list the dimensions in the description. I have only tried to use it once, so cannot comment on its accuracy. If you are interested in a very compact scale, I suppose it might be of use. The actual platform is 1.25" X 1.5".

I guess I'm really looking for a digital scale for the simplicity of quickly weighing things. Hundredths of a gram would be nice.

I'd go to Ebay or DX; chinese companies sell digital scales at ridiculous prices. For 10mg (hundredth of gram) range, I have been pleased with this model: http://dx.com/p/precision-digital-pocket-scale-100g-max-0-01g-resolution-15002#.UuJ7BLT8JaQ (I think I bought mine from Dx, but many other shops carry the same item), this is the one that I use also as the core of my digital torque meter. But the currently common milligram scale, similar to Gemini, is also a nice one for F1D work: http://dx.com/p/digital-precision-scale-20g-max-0-001g-resolution-10515 (again, ebay may give even better price than DX, so it all depends how long you want to use browsing...)
