I'll second that. Have used such scale for several years now. I tossed
the pan away, and used some (medium) cyano to attach a 3mm ID aluminum
tubing (some 15mm long) vertical onto the scale weighting platform. Now
typically I insert my model stand (20cm of 3mm carbon rod and a foam
holder) to the scale, tare it and use it to weight parts and models. I
also have a shorter rod (10cm) with a (depron) disk at the end, to work
as a scaling pan.It works ok for me, and the accuracy does not seem to
suffer from raising the measuring point - moving the object around on
the platform does not change the reading.
