Os film covering adhesive

I have up to now covered by spraying 3m 77 directly from the can onto framework and laying the film on top. Due to possibility of weight savings i want to try frame on film method. Can anyone advise on how much to thin the 3m adhesive planning on using lighter fluid and any other covering pointers in regard to this technique are welcome.
