In the US, OS film is just a bit more expensive (40% or less) than Super Ultra film or A2Z's PolyMicro film. The cost was even closer when OS film used to have sale prices at A2Z (who no longer sell OS film). Also OS film rolls vary somewhat in weight per square meter so one can use the heavier OS film on heavier planes and save the lighter rolls of OS film for the lighter planes. Ultra Film and the older (lighter than the newer) PPP film are easier to handle than OS film but not by that much for the heavier rolls of OS film.

I use Ray's Ultra Film for my LPP's because I still have several rolls but Bill Gowen's LPP's have been covered with OS film for as long as I can rememeber.
