After reading over the Blue Book, my question is how do we better advocate
for ourselves? I interpreted the tone of the revisions to be moving towards
restricting access to international competitions. The AMA presides over US
participation in world championships because we, the US aeromodeling
community, have given them the authority to do so. Thus, we as a community
should have substantial control of over what they do on a policy level.
I think the first step is transparency. I did not even know that the Blue
Book was up for revision. Maybe I missed something, however, I feel like
this process should be public and the dispersement of AMA funds should
ultimately be guided by its membership. It is probably time to start
contacting our district representatives.

Nick Ray
