I respectfully submit option 6)

Proposal: Have three contests. One for each of the three spots. Kibbie as
scheduled on the west coast, Champaign in the middle of the country, and a
Labor Day at Lakehurst. The winner of each contest would get a spot on the
team. They would also not be allowed to 'win' any of the other contests.

Alternates: Assuming there were second places at some or all of the
contests, alternates would be chosen based on who has attained the highest
percentage of the winner of their contest's score.

Rationale: This would give geographically balanced opportunities and it
avoids having to figure out which contest gets the second spot allotted to
it. It also allows us not have to compare times from the three sites using
a fudge factor. Lastly, it would also give us more time to find juniors.

Regards,

Nick
