Hello Mike,

I use artist stretcher frames for the bleaching and dying of condenser
paper. You can get a variety of sizes at your local art supply store.
I get lengths that will be longer than the paper and a width that fits
across my bathtub (32" long x 27" wide). I staple a layer of cheese
cloth to the frame and place the paper on it. Then staple another piece
of cheese cloth over the paper trapping it between the layer of cheese
cloth. Using a spray bottle of bleach 50/50 with water I spray bleach
on the paper, repeating as needed to get as white as possible. Then I
neutralize the bleaching using 3% hydrogen peroxide you by at the drug
store. Again spraying it with a spray bottle. Then wash the paper and
let it dry on the frame.

I dye the paper while still on the rack and between the layers of cheese
cloth. I use a larger frame made of stretcher frame segments and create
a shallow "pan" by using a few layers of 4 mil plastic film attached to
the larger frame. Pour the dye into the "pan" and place the frame
containing the paper into the dye bath. You might try spraying the dye
on with a spray bottle. I haven't tried that but have thought about
it. Might have difficulty controlling the density of the dye color with
the spray method.
