I usually use some version of a fishbone technique. I'll glue an end rib to
one of the spars just by holding the pieces together while the glue dries.
Then I'll glue the other end rib to the same spar. Then you can go in
whatever direction you're comfortable with. You can add all the ribs to the
one spar or you can add the other spar and have a box like structure that's
stable while you add the other ribs. If you go that way then you can use
weights to squeeze the spars together a little to hold the ribs in place
while you glue them.

Like Mark said a lot of us just make it up as we go. I'm getting old enough
that I don't always remember how I did something the last time.
