Hi Leroy,

I use Ambroid thinned 50/50 with acetone and about 8 drops of plasticizer
per oz. of glue/acetone mixture.

How I do my surfaces:

Lay down a piece of balsa in front of the leading edge to support the
leading edge in place. Place a couple of small pieces against the back of
the leading edge (in between the ribs) to hold the leading edge in place
against the piece of balsa you just laid down.

With a dropper bottle with needle size spout, I put a small drop of thinned
glue at each junction where the ribs are going to attach to the leading
edge.

I then put a bit of glue on all the ribs front. I hold a rib to where it's
going to be attached to the leading edge and JUST MOISTEN IT with either a
drop of acetone or a tiny drop of glue. The straight acetone or the acetone
in the glue will soften the glue on the leading edge and evaporate within 10
seconds and you'll have a great bond between rib and leading edge.

Trim the trailing edges of the ribs to size and repeat the process this time
I would put a drop of glue on the back of all the ribs, a drop of glue to
all the spots the ribs are going to contact on the trailing edge spar and
just place the spar against the ribs and support with a straight piece of
balsa strip. Let the whole thing dry overnight and that's it.

Hope this helps,

Ren

I'm having a heck of a time assenbling a Ministick wing and stab. How do
you glue things on the more delicate models - do you thin the glue to watery
consistency, assemble the parts and just place a drop of glue on top of the
joint, or do you place a drop of glue on, say the wing rib end, and put it
into place against the front spar then add the rear spar or place the front
and rear spars and try to "bend" the end glued ribs into place?

I often wish that I could sit and watch some of you put a model together.
