My problem with very wide, low pitch blades (esp LPP) is not in creating a wide block, but getting the prop wood to follow the pitch and width without splitting. I can do wide, or low pitch, but not both wide and low pitch. Cylinder forming seems the better compromise, then tweak out a little bit of the undercamber, which also tweaks out some of the pitch. Of course, with a narrower blade, I don't need as low a pitch as I shoot for with with very wide blade, such as 18"P.
Solutions?
