I'm not sure where four hands would be used?

I'd see this attached to a cutting mat. You'd tape the wood to be cut to the mat. Put your template over the wood, aligned to the top slider. Adjust, apply pressure to the plexiglass to hold the slider in place, fingers holding the template flush. One hand to hold the unit, one to use the knife. Cut the rib. Slide the jig over as needed, fingers pull the template flush again, apply pressure and cut next rib. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Seems simple and rather elegant.
