My current F1d have abour 3.1" wingposts, and the essential aspect is how much the wingposts allow X amount of (needed) wing washin at launch. This is a variable according to motorstick twist added to wingpost strength. I recall Tim G. was on to this circa 2000, and published some photos, maybe still on his site.
