I've never believed the theory that vertical separation necessarily equals more time. Seems Bernie Hunt's Stork experiments flew about as well as his other experiements, meaning very well, but not better. My current F1d have abour 3.1" wingposts, and the essential aspect is how much the wingposts allow X amount of (needed) wing washin at launch. This is a variable according to motorstick twist added to wingpost strength. I recall Tim G. was on to this circa 2000, and published some photos, maybe still on his site.
