circle trimming question

I have a question about controlling the diameter of the circle on indoor duration models. The options that I know of include, thrust offset, rudder offset & stab tilt.
I would like to know your preferences & why. In particular, how would I trim for a smaller circle during the climb & a larger circle on the descent?
