Maybe back in the 80's... There used to be a CO2 class IIRC.
I don't recall seeing it in the AMA rulebook recently.

Given the fact that there hasn't been any CO2 motor manufacturers for a while, it is a bit like Jetex back in the 80's... I recall a contest where someone lit, launched to see it sputter and fall to the ground in ~2 seconds. That was one of his official flights. You couldn't get fuel anymore, so you got what you got and used what you had.
