I would just add that you'd probably want to make the tube a bit longer and add any bracing the the tube if you go this route. This is a weak spot. John Kagan does this on his F1Ds for this reason.

You may well have- BobW took a look at the first PP I showed up with last fall and made several suggestions for improvements. One was to always mount the tissue tubes on opposite sides for stick-fuse models. I don't know anyone that does this on rolled tube motor sticks. Any left thrust is built into the thrust bearing.
