No, I swear I saw a rod that was like 18 inches long with handle used back in the day (80's)... I don't recall backer rod - I think it was shoe lace tied to the balloon, then mono or kite string from shoe lace down. I don't recall the reel type.
Anyway, I have Franken-box for my models. Would a Spiderman fishing pole be much more ridiculous? It certainly wouldn't be stolen by any self-respecting Indoor flyer.
