Don, I believe it was Kang who posted the registration facts.
I commented on the facts as they stood today, I was unaware about the
numbers changing over time. I agree with Don S. though, why come here
poking a sick at us if you do not even come to USIC? There are plenty of
people who fly or drive a longer distance. (Steve Brown, Kang, etc) There
are also people who come to USIC even despite serious health
issues.....Hack used to go to contests with an oxygen tank! These guys come
because they love it, because they are passionate about it. They do not
care if more people fly outdoors, or CL, or anything else for that matter.
I would understand if you complained about participation in the hobby if
you actually come to some events outside of your home state. Come to
Lakehurst, Kent, USIC, Kibbe, and fly 5 or 6 events for a few years, then
we can build you a little soapbox to stand on.
BTW, no one has mentioned Float Documentary in this. I have spent nearly 3
years and thousands of my hard-earned dollars on this project because I am
passionate about indoor and want the world to know about it. To date the
trailer has been watched over 200,000 times, and has over 1.3 MIllion hits.
I know what you are going to say - Who is going to actually turn off the TV
to build a plane? Thats not the point. The point is to show it to them, in
the most honest way possible. To capture the beauty of the planes, the fun
of the competitions, and the passion, drive, and determination of the
competitors.
Every time you come poking the stick, it motivates me to work harder on
Float, so keep poking.
