I agree with Mark here, I don't use every spar cut from the sheet. Not every one of them strips off straight. It helps a bit to wait a few minutes for the glue to completely dry before stripping it off. Waiting is the hardest part for me:)

Sometimes a warp will magically appear upon slicing off pre boron'd spar, with little recourse. (That is, if you embed the boron. Some do not, in order to adjust the straightness of errant wood.) Also, you can estimate the final weight more accurately with free standing spar. Easy to waste an hour with my method due to a dissappointing result. (So I just make another one, or maybe even abandon that sheet.)
