Here's the reply I promised from Bob Warmann about the demise of the
Midwestern States Indoor Championships:
"Leroy, The Midwestern States Indoor Championships was dropped because
the Coordinator of Armory Track and Floor would not let us on the floor
until 2 pm on Saturdays. I could not run a 2 day contest with these
restrictions. I followed up when I got back from Australia and nothing
had changed therefore contest was dropped. Later I found they rented
armory for Sat. and Sun. from 8 am until 10 pm to Great Planes Model
Airplane Co. I inquired why they could get it and I could not and was
told it was all political Since I had lost my political contact when
athletic dept. took over I could make no further headway and contest was
never resumed. Bob"
