Quite right. In Finnish Teams (mostly outdoors but also last year
indoor) it is rather common to have one competitor having a double-role
as the team manager. Especially in indoors that is no major issue, as TM
a) takes part in the TM meetings, b) communicates (on behalf of the
whole team) with the contest organizers and c) supervises the work of
the timekeepers (and approves the flight score after the flight). In a
relaxed contest like indoors, it is no problem to be a contestant and TM
at the same time (did that last year Euros as the sole participant from
Finland). [Outdoors the schedule is a bit more hectic, so typically it
is one contestant that is not flying on that particular day that works
as the TM.]
