Hi Mike,

When I get my next set, I'm planning on the Accusplit A601X (in various colors) for my two flight watches and the prop-stop watch: top of the page http://www.accusplit.com/StopwatchShowAllProducts.aspx

You can get them on Amazon for about $16

I like the idea of the "million cycle switches". My current stopwatch switches bounce once in a while, which really sucks on a long flight.

You don't need it right away, but eventually if/when you start playing with VP props, you'll want a stroke watch, too. Like this one: http://www.accusplit.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=2249

BTW, you mentioned lanyards - people love swinging stopwatches around by the lanyard. Not a good idea around Indoor planes :) It isn't even a good idea to hang them on your neck. The will swing into something when you lean over. The lanyards are best for getting them out of your pocket quickly, and that's about it.
