I just ran their equivalents and it comes out a shade less costly, at $15.27 vs $15.56 for Servo City for all the parts for one winder. The SDP sprockets are way cheaper but their chain is $9.37 against $6.60. I didn't look at SDP's shipping charges, but SC is a flat 6 bucks (Priority Mail).

The SDP parts are all Acetal, not Delrin, which doesn't make much of a difference, I suppose. The kicker, though, is that SDP claims an ultimate break strength of 6 lbs for their chain. I've run my own tests on the Delrin chain and my 5 kg(11lb) rig maxed out before the chain broke. So I figure the winder now handles a safe 6 oz/in but with SDP chain it would only be half that.

One nice thing, for my design anyway, is that SDP has a 10 tooth sprocket with a .250 bore, which would eliminate a cumbersome reaming process. It might be worthwhile to try SDP sprockets and SC chain. If you were just building one for yourself, the S&H would kill, but for 10 or 12 it's feasible.

Thanks for the lead.

Art.
