Steering poles?

Any suggestion for good (and cheap :-) steering poles? Is one where top
sections go over bottom ones better than telescoping? I would prefer one
where the sections can be bought as spares, also one that is rather
compact. One folded to 75cm / 30in or less would be much easier to pack
than a longer one. I do not need a super-long one, but 8 meters would be
sufficient, 10m super. Ah yes, as preferably from Europe, as mailing
from the US would cost me an arm and a leg....
