I do not even use a jig at all. Started covering on table top with F1M,
and it seems to work also with F1D. I first cover the table with a clean
sheet of newspaper, tape it tight at corners to make it flat. Then
unroll some film onto the paper, cut a piece with a soldering iron. Use
clean hands & fingers to gently remove the wrinkles and "spread" the
film onto the paper, and use some pieces of tape to hold and tighten it.
Next I take the frame, sprayed with glue (77), and drop this onto the
film. First roll one end so that the spar touches and attaches to the
film, and as it tends to lift off, cut that spar loose (on the outside
of the frame. Then roll the wing so that the other spar attaches. The
ribs are surprisingly flexible at this stage, I can almost flatten the
wing while rolling in on the film. Finally cut the tips loose, carefully
lift the frame from the table, turn it upside down and work all the
spars so that film is properly attached.
