The plans say 1.97gm, and your clarification from Van Dover says 1.97gm.
But the page on the AMA website for the Nats says 1.7gm.
I suspect the 1.7gm on the AMA page is a typo (the plans have component weights that add up to 1.97gm), but it is easier to ballast up than figure out how to shed built-in weight.
