One local alumnus of the Pro-Am is Richard Schneider who was paired with Jeff Hood at USIC. Richard brought his Hood LPP to our last indoor contest and seemed to have fun flying it and was open to suggestions about improving his times. I'm guessing he will show up with a new LPP sometime soon. Richard is a master builder (member of the USA C/L scale team) and can certainly handle the technical parts of building indoor models.

TTOMA had a disaster with our excellent Cat 1 flying site becoming unavailable. Dohrman Crawford came thru in the pinch with once a month contests in the gym at St. Lukes Presbyterian Church. This site probably won't produce any records but it's one of the safest places I've ever flown.

The Science Olympiad source of new blood is probably going to take a hit since the flying events are for helicopters the next two years. When real airplanes come back I hope a lot of us can jump on the opportunity to develop some new fliers.

(I don't have anything against helicopters - it's just that - well yes I do have something against helicopters)
