Hi John,
There are around 1400 members of the National Free Flight Society, which
represents about half of the competitive Free Flighters in the USA. Of those
1400 perhaps half fly indoor at least once a year. Of that 700 there are
maybe 200 serious competitive indoor flyers who do little else but fly
indoor. The Indoor Nationals has about 80-100 registered competitors each
May/June. These are educated guesses; perhaps others on the list have some
more accurate data.
The good news for you is most Free Flight Clubs have indoor flying sessions,
usually in the winter when the weather is poor outdoors. Go to
www.freeflight.org <
http://www.freeflight.org/> for a list of US FF clubs
by state/region.
Are you a member of NFFS? If not I will be happy to send you a sample issue
of NFFS Digest, the only all-FF periodical in the USA. NFFS members get 240+
pages a year of the Digest for $25.

Subject: [Indoor_Construction] how many
Gentlemen
I recently joined this group. I have never built flown or seen an indoor
contest or sport plane. I am fascinated by the process however.
i would love to see them being flown or have the chance to build and fly
one. The problem is, of course flying space. ( I live in Missouri and know
of no such space as you use)
My question , just of curiosity, how many indoor free flight flyers would
you guess exist in this country or how many contest flyers? World wide?
John
