Fly for free Invitational
Let me be perfectly clear that the words "invitational" and "non-AMA" never came from me. This was Kang's enthusiasm, and he was unaware the topic was so sensitive. I invite and welcome any and all to fly, and I will personally see to it they are well-behaved. We have had more problems with adults than youth.
I will say I will forego the entry fee if there is a problem, meaning I would pay out of my own pocket as a donation, the way we did with many of the Smyrna fliers. For less than what I pay for a pound of Super Sport, everyone can have a
good time. But I expect everyone to be an AMA member. Here are my exact words, which were off list,
"Some of the events are AMA and some are non-AMA, or what we call NFFS
events. Just fill out the forms and send with your check to the AMA
headquarters. If you would like to stay in a Tennessee State dormitory
room for only $43.00, send me that form.
"Hope to see you there.
Note that if you are a Junior, things are much cheaper."
I don't expect there will be more than half a dozen. I have been as guilty as anyone, but we all need to be real careful when we send something out to 400+ modelers.
