I heard a report of such an incident several years ago. I was unaware of
the incident the year it was reported to have happened, and only heard
about it later. I believe the report, but don't remember the details. If
I remember correctly, the person who told me probably is not on this forum.

Maybe all that is necessary is to make it clear that the "invitation" is
open to all. One year I made sure that Tim Lavender's Smyrna, TN church
group was personally invited, but probably well after "the incident".

The other frightening finding is that Google Desktop search finds
everything as shown in the attached file from a Don Slusarczyk poll
dated 9/24/2004.
The relevant text is red, but the file is otherwise unedited.
