It will depend on your prop and the weight of your model. I use about 18" x 1 gram which is in the neighborhood of .050".

  Hi Guys,

I'm ordering some supplies for the USIC and wondering about what size rubber I should start with for A-6. I built Gary Hodson's Wart with the lightest wood I have and Gampi tissue, but have no idea what it weighs because I don't have a gram scale. It's my first try at A-6 and my first try at any true duration models for about 15 years, since I was a kid fooling around with Parlor Mites & EZBs.

Any suggestions for a good beginning range of motor thicknesses in inches?

  Thanks!
  Katie
