I think what is being overlooked in these BOM discussions is that beginner
regardless of age will destroy an indoor model in handling. Goodness knows
experienced fliers do it enough. Also, rubber winding and trimming win
contests. Steven Richmond is a testament to that. He set the LPP record,
that Don D. is offering a bounty to have broken, with a model that rest of
the people there questioned if it would even fly. I agree that BOM is
important, but I have never heard of uniform way to enforce it. So to me,
the challenge of building and flying protects the hobby from unwanted
intrusions. I think that this is the beauty of indoor free flight.
