I wonder how many records Don would have set if I was building his models for him when he was a youngster? .I bet he would have won more contests but I bet he would have quit the sport a long time ago .You learn self esteem at a young age when you can do it yourself with a little teaching. His first EZ Bee;s Flew 1 or 2 min then 5 then 10 etc eventually setting records .It did my heart good To know Don did it on his own with only my encouragement NOT MY MODEL..BOM should stay.
I don't care what the rules are plastic or tissue etc .the good builders will still win .Look at the results of the last USIC and see how many winners are beginners...There's nothing wrong with losing as long as you keep improving your personal best.eventually you'll win. I flew Indoor at age 9 before winning my first trophy at age 13.Buying my trophy would not have meant anything to me .In fact I still have that trophy that is the only trophy I saved and still have at age... 68
We shouldn't deprive beginners of the satisfaction felt by improving oneself and learning the skills required to win what ever the rules.

PS I vote yes for -plastic

Oh boy Tom, this is dangerous ground! I've had several people contact me to suggest adding BOM abolition to my A-6 proposal.

I am not sure how I feel about the BOM rule, in general, for indoor duration.

No one mentioned the BOM rule. I have an A-6 that has
done over 10:00 at the Kibbe Dome and 10:21 at USIC and am interested in
trading it for a roll of Y2K2 . Anyone interested? Tom
