No, I've not gone over to the dark side, but I'm looking for tips on stripping thin rubber. I have been trying to strip some .020 to .025 Tan II using my Oppegard stripper, with a very mixed set of results. The main problem is consistency. I can usually get the rubber size down there but the width varies by 5 thousandths most of the time. I followed the Oppegard instructions for setting up the roller pressures but still have the same problem. I've heard about wet stripping but fear that I'll rust up the cutters and other things if I even try that.
If I start with 1/4" rubber can I expect to only get a fine cut from one side ?
I'll appreciate any help offered.
