Enjoyed the Lakehurst pics - very long models!

You may be putting too much glue on joints. When I make my props each blade when mounted on the spar stays on pitch jig for 48 hrs to reduce shrinkage problems. Also, I make sure the spars are straight before attaching the blades. If the wood has decent stiffness, the spars can be straightened via local bending with the fingers and will stay straight. Same applies to F1L and F1M.

  Subject: [Indoor_Construction] Prop spar warping...

I have been having a problem with my F1D/HLS/IS props in that the spar over a few weeks tends to bow out toward the tip, i.e. as the prop is on the plane, the tips are bowed toward the front...

I'm guessing that it is warping because of the glue shrinking on the rib/spar joint... I use Ambroid or Duco, no plasticizer...

Anyone else have the problem... or a solution...?
