'09 F1D Japan National Champ
'09 Japan F1D National Championship was held at Yamabiko Dome in Matsumoto,
Nagano on 27 Sep. The dome is 34 meters ceiling. 9 modelers participated in
the contest. I participated the Nats (and F1D contest) for the first time.
It was a very difficult contest for me because I have never flown F1D there.
The contest was 6 rounds, 6 hours, one day, very busy one.
The result is: (best 2 of 6)
1, Akihiro Danjo 31:17 + 32:52 = 64:09
2, Kazumasa Kihara 29:01 + 29:17 = 58:18
3, Hideyo Enomoto 28:14 + 27:31 = 55:45
My 1&3 rounds were ended hanging up. 2&4 rounds were very dangerous flights
because of hitting the ceiling, but I was very lucky! I did not fly 5&6
rounds.
2nd place, Kihara is a former 65cmF1D cat1 world record holder and
participated in the Nats after an interval of 10 years.
3rd place, Enomoto is a famous multiple Nats champs and world team member.
I have built a blast plate just before the contest (thanks, everyone!) and
tried it at the partial motor test in the morning of the contest day. But, I
found that it needed some modification for me because I hold the front part
of motor stick of my model, about 1 inch, with my right hand only. The front
end of the plate was an obstacle for me. I will improve it. I did not use
the plate at the contest, but, fortunately there were no blast.
Good flying, Aki
