Tapio
I just opened the torque meter wire calculator on Indoornews.com. The calculation that came up was a torque of .55in-oz at 360 degree rotation and the wire for that condition was .012" diameter x 4.46" long. I think this is about maximum torque for an F1D motor. In metric units this 40 gm-cm and a wire that is 113 mm x .3 mm.

My preference is for longer meters so I would probably go with a larger diameter wire. I think there is less likelihood of overstressing the wire and the larger diameter wire will stand more abuse without breaking. So for instance the same capacity with a .015" wire would require the wire to be 10.89" long. This is actually the setup I use on my F1L meter.

Ok, one more question: what would be the good dimension (diameter,
length) for F1D torque meter wire? Aiming for, I suppose, 20 to 30gcm at
  3/4 turns rotation?
