Perhaps it is time for another plug for "Building and Flying Indoor
Model Airplanes." available at Amazon and at some model shops. While
the plans are a bit out of date, it covers much of what is going on
with models today. The sections that describe building stuff are still
really applicable.
There is a section on stripping wood with a razor and a straightedge.
