Is there a detailed drawing or picture to be able to make a simple one. Also were do I get thinner strip wood than available from flitehook or sams models here in the UK.

The simplest method is just a straightedge and razor blade. There is at least one US national record holder who has never done it any other way.

Next would be an inexpensive model like the one from Master Airscrew (google "master airscrew stripper" for a ton of places to purchase one).

On the other end of the spectrum, you can purchase a Harlan stripper at indoorspecialties.com or a Jones style stripper at peck-polymers.com. These are great for making easy, accurate cuts.
