Subject: Moreland Gym Indoor Flying

This is to remind you that there will be indoor model airplane building
and flying in the Moreland Community Center Gym on Sunday, June
7, from 6 to 8 PM. The address is 1850 Fallbrook
Avenue in San Jose, 95130. Fallbrook is off Campbell Avenue, between
Saratoga Avenue and San Tomas Expressway. Flyers 19 or over pay $6
and flyers 18 or under pay $3. Building instruction for kids is
available at $10 per 2-hour session. Separate materials fees are
payable to the instructor. There is no charge for observers.

James sanding round the wing leading edge for his Big Pussycat. He
already has quite a bit done.
Larry Li has been building his own-design intermediate stick.
Brian put the finishing touches on his Moffett No. 1 Pennyplane.
Mr. Young helped him adjust the propeller and wing.

Outdoor Flying Field
On Wednesday we met again with County Parks staff to begin the permit
process. OCD will be granted an exclusive permit to fly free flight rubber
and hand launch models at Harvey Bear Ranch. This will be a one year pilot
project. Parks staff will prepare a draft permit as we gather our
insurance documents. We will meet again in the near future to complete the
process and sign the papers. It looks like we may be able to begin flying
there within a month.
It would be nice to open the field with a kids AMA Cub contest. What
do you say, kids?
